7 Things I've Been Loving (July 2012)

As we are coming near to the and of the month, and I haven't done a monthly favorites before, I thought why not? As I know myself very well, and already have a list that seems never-ending, I'm limiting myself to 7 things (5 was too less and the post would be too long with 10, so 7 it was:-). This way I can ensure that everything is really, really worth sharing and recommending to you guys. I'm dying to share some products with you guys as I've really been enjoying these!

So off we go!

Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Solution - €45
As you might have known, I have suffered from acne before and thank goodness my skin has improved loads over the years. I don't have many breakouts anymore, just the occasional one, but was left with both cheeks with hyper pigmentation. After reading loads of good reviews, I went to the Kiehl's store to get a sample of the product and I cannot praise this enough. It has seriously helped my hyper pigmentation spots to fade away so much. Have been using this for over a month now, and I still am using it from the sample - I got the deluxe size of the sample btw, little goes a long way indeed.

Gamila Secret Original Cleansing Bar in Original - €23
I'm not a soap person, actually I loathe all kinds of soap because it makes my skin so dry, while I have combination skin. However, since I've been working for truly yours, I gave this one another shot because my co-worker has been raving about this soap - or cleansing bar - since I started. Honestly, I don't regret it at all. I have been using it for the last 2 weeks every morning and evening after my makeup remover and my skin looks brighter and clearer. I didn't change my routine much, but only added this cleansing bar and the next product in the list...

Caudalie Eau de Beauté - €11/€13
I've mentioned this gem before in another blogpost (here), and yep, still love it loads! People have been raving on and on about how great it has been for their skin. At first I thought it was rubbish talk, but now I'm a definite converter. I'm not using any off my other toner/lotions anymore, and have only been using this. Be aware to not spritz this anywhere near your eye area, it seriously burns when you open them, I think it's because of the mint. I always wait a few sec's before I open my eyes to limit the pain. So please don't spray loads of product near your eyes, unless you're looking for a way to torture yourself ha ha:-)

Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer - €49
This product I've been loving for 4 years already. Yep, I've repurchased it a few times and I still love it loads. I use the oil-free version in summer and the regular version in winter. It just gives me the right amount of coverage, light but covers the redness and the hyper pigmentation a bit. I just have to add a tiny bit of concealer (Vichy Dermablend/Laura Mercier Undercoverpot) and then I have flawless looking skin, while still remaining natural and let the skin "shine through".

I don't recommend this to people who want medium to full coverage, because this just won't cut it. I know when I was suffering from very bad acne and used this that I was so disappointed because it didn't conceal the things I wanted at all. I recommend getting their Silk Cream Foundation instead, which definitely provides full coverage, and is designed for those with scarring and acne.

Benefit Benetint - €32
For those that don't know what Benetint is, it is a lip and cheek stain in one, and by far the most genius product - ever! I got this in a value set a while ago and have been loving it since. I love the healthy, and natural lip tint it gives me, it doesn't stay on the entire day, but that's alright. I also use it all the time on the cheeks when I just don't want to use much blusher. It gives the most healthy flush on the cheeks. Very easy to apply and the color is very buildable! I think it'd look lovely on all skin tones, although I'm not sure whether it would show up on the darker skin tones though.

Daniel Sandler Watercolor Blush in POP - €19
I have this product for almost a year, and I've been loving it since. The color POP is just a gorgeous pink, looks super natural on the cheeks as well. The product is so easy to use, it does come with a brush, which is only for 5 pounds at escentual (here), but I don't think it's that necessary to get one. Of course it's more hygienic than using your fingers, but that does the job as well. The brush kinda "eats" a lot of the product as well. But very blendable, and the best part: it doesn't come off until you want it to go. I have combination skin, and most blushes just fade away during the day, except this one. I also like to use it on my lips:-)

Prodent White Now - €3,95
A while ago I got the new Prodent toothpaste as it had an introduction sale. At first I didn't like the product at all!. It didn't give me instant white teeth like it claimed, I have to say I didn't expect really instant white teeth but expected some slight differences. Despite all this I still continued using it, because I liked the taste of it (ice cool mint). A week later I saw minor improvements in my teeth color. Now I've used it for about a month and I have to say - it works.

It definitely does not give you "white teeth now", but it does whiten teeth on the long run. After getting a coffee addiction because of uni, you don't know how happy I am with moderately white teeth ha ha, yay!:-)

So these were my July favorites. What products have you been loving this month?

  1. Ooh, Benetint, that's a blast from the past! I'm tempted to buy some more now that you've reminded me about it :)
I really like the Eau de Beaute too, I didn't want to because often the most raved about products don't live up to the hype, but it actually does and it's really sorted my skin out - I usually have good skin but for some reason I came out with a lot of blemishes recently, but they're all gone now!

    1. no problem! I'm thinking about getting the ChaCha tint as it looks gorgeous in the pot, and I'm just very into peachy tones. I'm glad your skin has been better and blemish free - who wouldn't want that ha ha! : ) x
