An Unplanned Beauty Haul

These are the beauty bits I've bought in the past week since I've been in the Netherlands. I know I shouldn't be spending this much money on beauty (actually on anything), but I just couldn't not buy them as I got great deals on most of the items.

I know I'm a bit late to the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat train, but I'm here, and I'm on it. I love the consistency, and the coverage of the foundation. I just don't see the dewiness when it's applied on my skin. As I have combination skin, I do need to powder my nose, chin, and between my brows (yes I do that, and more people should!). If not I look like a shiny, hot mess in a few hours - thank goodness for blotting papers (or soft tissues if you have to). I got it for around €34, as there was a 20% off at Douglas (a Dutch store specialized in beauty products, and fragrances) but a few days later I saw it on sale at feelunique.com, I felt like crying.

The two lippies are the YSL Glossy Stain in #11, and the Dior Addict Extreme in Plaza. Two lippies I already own in other colors, as I loved the formula so, so much. Was intending to get the Dior in Rivièra, as that color is gorgeous, but when I got home and opened the lipstick it said Plaza. Already applied it a few times when I noticed it, bummer. Love the color nonetheless.

On to the more skincare items, La Roche-Posay Effaclar DUO, and Formula 10.0.6 Down To The Pore Blackhead Banishing Pore Strips (jeez, they should make their product name shorter). Haven't tried the pore strips yet, will do that tonight as a pre-NYE pamper, but have been using the LRP moisturizer for the past three days. Because of all the stress, late nights/early mornings, and lots of (un)healthy food I broke out a bit on my chin. After reading tons of reviews, and ravings I thought I should give this 'un a shot, haven't noticed any changes in my skin though. Will keep you posted! Also repurchased the Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment, as I finished my Clinique one, don't like the Lierac one I got in Paris, and love me some moisturizing eye cream when it's winter.

What are your latest beauty buys?

  1. I recently got the Dior lipstick in Diva (Christmas collection) as a Christmas present for myself! Might need to take another look at the YSL glossy stains because I love the color range, but they are just a bit too glossy for me I think. I just found out about Formula 10.0.6 and the 'Deep down detox' mask sounds like something I need right now after all of the Christmas food! Only problem is that I haven't seen it in stores so far.

    1. Ooh their Christmas collection is divine! The stains are gorgeous, and you should really own at least one ;-). They aren't that glossy though, I just buff them in real well, and then use a tissue to blot once. The Formula 10.0.6 items can be found in Sephora and Kruitvat (spotted it recently there). x

    1. Oh me too. Their consistency is amazing, even got my mum to convert from her classic Lancôme lipsticks (she's been using them for over 25 years!). x

  4. How do you like the foundation so far? Is it long lasting? And what color did you get it in? :)

    1. I really like it! For me it lasts the entire day, do have to blot and sometimes touch up the t-zone, but that's it. I got it in B30! Looks a bit light when first applied, but sinks into the skin so beautifully, almost silky. Hope it helped! :-) x
