Review: Rimmel Kate Spring Lipstick

Hi guys, long time no post. Sorry for that! The internship has been using up quite some time of my life. Right now I am prepping for a big fashion event where the company I'm interning at is participating in. The "to-do list" I received is seriously 2 pages full, and I'm talking about A4 pages, and with a small hand writing. I'm not complaining, it's tiring, but I'm sure I'll gain loads of benefits from this. And although it's super tiring and time consuming, I still enjoy interning there. Anyways. Moving on to the review.

As you might remember, I did a blogpost about Kate's Rimmel Spring Collection a little while ago (here). Unfortunately, the spring collection is still not launched in the Netherlands yet and feel unique didn't have stock on the colors I wanted to order.

However, a week ago I received a notification that one color I really wanted was back in stock again! I didn't hesitate for a second and immediately placed an order. Today I received the lipstick and thought I'd show it to you guys, especially since the swatches are limited online. The lipstick I ordered was in 16. It was my favorite from the swatches I've seen online, and I am so glad I got it!:-)

Number 16 is a rosy pink, great for spring and summer. As you might have noticed, I am a pink lover. I mean... It's kinda obvi, isn't it - I'm hinting at my pink layout haha. Below you'll find some swatches. I also swatched the other two colors I have from the previous collection, 10 and 05.

Eeeeeeek!

Well hello guys, this post will be a short one. I just wanted to share with you guys something exciting, well it's more exciting for me than for you I guess. :-)

Anyways. As you might now, I am active on a few social media platforms (you can follow me if you'd like to, click on the icons on the right). Today I was at work (internship) and browsing through Pinterest, and liked/re-pinned some pins, and then followed Jemma Kidd. A make up artist I look up to, so much. Her make up line is brilliant, and I recommend everyone to take a look at her products.

But coming to the reason why I'm writing this, she followed me back! Oh-em-gee! I know that there is a huge chance that is not even Jemma Kidd herself, but a social media consultant, but still. I was so stunned by this that I had to share it with you guys.

Ha, I guess this means I pin quite some interesting things. :-) So if you'd like to see what made Jemma Kidd (or someone who manages her account) to follow me, you can do so here!

I will post a regular blog post soon. If you have topics you'd like me to blog about, let me know!

Rave: Everyday Minerals

Sorry about my lack of posts this week. Have been so tired lately because of my internship. Have to travel 2,5 hours a day in total, but it's all worth it! I'll promise I'll post more regularly in the future, after I get used to the routine haha :-)

Anyways, today's posts is about mineral makeup. As the weather is kind of getting better in Holland (not really) I tend to use my mineral powder or tinted moisturizer (post coming soon!) instead of liquid foundation. I have tried many mineral foundation of L'Oréal and both Bare Minerals powders, but I only continued using one brand. And that is Everyday Minerals.

Everyday Minerals is an American make up company that sells mineral make up. And with make up I mean, blush, bronzer, base, highlighter, eyeshadow, finishing powder, lip products. They also sell brushes and even have few mineral skincare products! All of Everyday Minerals does not test on animals, and tries to be as sustainable as possible with their production.

I have been using Everyday Minerals for at least 5 years and I can say, they have improved so much. They were amazing when I first discovered them, but as they grew they created better and more products and improved their packaging.

The reason why I am blogging about this brand today, is because I wanted to introduce you to this amazing brand. With their mineral powders you can get medium to full coverage, it didn't break me out, and it actually stays on my face a long, long time. I also love their blushes, bronzers and eyeshadows. The ones I tried were very pigmented and long lasting.

Intrigued? Please read on for the goodies I've saved up in the end!

First Day of Internship

I'm right now sitting in the train on my way home. Making use of the Blogger app for the first time, because I'm so excited to wait until I get home!

My first day was great! The people are very very nice and no awkwardness at all. Today I had to look for new trends on the web and in magazines. I also had to help looking up some distributors in the Netherlands and some products. Which is basically what I do in my free time anyways - did I already say I love it there already?

They also told me that I can help out at a huge fashion event in the Netherlands this summer: Mode Fabriek. I'm super excited already!

To close the day with a bang, I also got a bag with all Tony & Guy goodies. Full size goodies. I'm in heaven!

Have you tried any Tony & Guy products, and would you like me to review the products I got?

Review: Benefit POREfessional

I know it's been a little while since I posted anything, I'm so sorry for being MIA. Past few days have been hectic, and I've been super busy. I had my gala on Friday, and stayed the night at my friend's place. And... I had an interview for an internship last Friday!

I'm happy to announce that I got my first ever internship, and it's at a beauty related company, yay! I'm not sure if I am allowed to say anything about it, yet. As I didn't sign the contract yet, and don't know what their regulations are. It's not a huge company, but I know I will definitely like it, as I like everything related to beauty. And I'm sure it'll be a great experience for later, as I hope to continue working in the beauty or fashion industry.

Oops, rambling on about miscellaneous things again, moving on to the main topic of today's post: Benefit's POREfessional. If you don't know what POREfessional is, it's basically Benefit's "newest" primer. It's not that new, I think it's actually on the market for a year now. Anyways.

What it is: A PRO balm (their words) that minimizes the appearance of pores.
What it does: It quickly minimizes the appearance of pores. Apply this silky, light weighted balm to achieve translucent pore coverage and smoother-than-smoother skin.
What you need to know: It's oil-free!
What I think...

Bag Crush: Rebecca Minkoff M.A.C.

Yes, I know, again a blog post about bags. I'm a sucker for pretty bags, accessories, clothing, gadgets, cosmetics, skincare, books, perfume... do I need to go on?

Anyways, coming back to bags. I know I posted about the Cambridge Satchel just a little while ago (here), and said that I was planning to get one. I still am, but it's just that something else flew into my radar as well. Yep, I'm talking about the Rebecca Minkoff M.A.C. - Morning After Clutch.

I think many of you already know about the bag, or the brand, as it's huge in the States I know. A lot of celebrities and it-girls have been wearing bags from this brand. Also, if you watch Pretty Little Liars, in their 3rd season (most recent one) they all carry bags from Minkoff - swoon!

The bag I'm talking about today, is the one in the image above, isn't it gorgeous? I absolutely love it, and the more I look at it, the prettier it gets. I own the Minkoff mini M.A.C., which is a smaller version of this one, and I absolutely adore it. It's a great summer color (image below), and matches a lot of my outfits. It's a bit on the small side, and I thought it would be a bit bigger when I ordered it online. Nonetheless, I still love it loads and use it as much as possible.

What I Bought In Antwerp (Haul)!

If you guys have read my previous posts (here and here), you know that I went to Antwerp to shop with one of my best friends. I was really excited to visit the Shu Uemura store there, as it was the "closest" counter near me - it takes about 3 hours to get to Antwerp.

As I knew from Google Maps that it was a block behind the main street, we decided to shop there first and just see where the streets would take us. My goal was to get a gala dress, matching shoes, Shu Uemura eyelash curler and the face architect foundation. I got 2 out of 4, but managed to compensate ;-)

I first got my dress, my shoes, two bandeau tops and some Kiehl's samples, which you can see below. I didn't include the samples and the bandeau tops as they weren't really exciting to show you guys. However, I really like the dress and shoes I got and am very excited to share it with you. The gala I'm going to is not very formal, so I wanted to get a nice summery, flowy dress. One I can also wear in summer or when I have a nice party. I think I succeeded and got a dress that ticks all those boxes.

Sneak Peak: Antwerp Haul

Hi guys,

As most of you probably know, I went to Antwerp with my friend yesterday. We had a great time and spend in total 9 hours in the city! I know, it was a crazy, but amazing, long day, and we're shopaholics after all. :-)

I'm about to leave for uni, but I thought I'd give you a mini sneak peak of the stuff I got. I decided to not give away too much from the haul, and make you guys a tiny bit curious haha!

My Skincare Wish List (continued)

I felt it became a bit of a too long blog post, so decided to separate it over two. Now I can ramble on a bit longer about the products haha. I promise, won't be too long! ;-)

So on to the products. If you didn't recognize the products from the image, don't worry I have named them and described each of them briefly.

Bioderma 'Sensibio H2O' - €15
Super raved about, I know, but that's what gotten me interested. For those that do not know (which I doubt), it's a super gentle makeup cleanser for the sensitive/dry/normal skin type. Alcohol free, fragrance free and without phenoxyethanol (whatever that is).

Origins 'Drink Up Intense Overnight Mask' - €26,50
A few of my favorite bloggers (Lily and Vivianna) have raved about this mask, and gotten me curious about it. It says to moisture your skin overnight and leaves it glowy and moist in the morning after.

Caudalie 'Beauty Elixir' - €13
I'm sure everyone has heard of this product, unless you've been living under a stone for the past few years. No seriously, this is one of the most raved skincare item, ever I think. Especially since Vicki B. tweeted about it. No description needed I think.

My Skincare Wish List

Over the past few months I have been noting down all the beauty recommendations of my favorite beauty bloggers. I only included skincare items (and two hair products), I admit, the list is HUGE. But bear in mind that I already scrapped half of the items from as they weren't really needed. And yes, the remaining products are vital for my skincare routine - that's what I keep telling myself. ;-)

But lately my skin has been changing a bit. I used to have a very oily complexion, very acne-prone. And lately I feel that I have combination skin, only oily around the nose/chin area, and (very) dry on my forehead, between my brows, jawline. I think this is because I have been taking medication to fight my acne battle for a while - about 6/7 months now. And I can say it is working! I'm "only" left with some hyper pigmentation, and get a few blemishes around that time of the month.

So a large part of my skincare routine is to basically cleanse and fighting the oil in my skin, which isn't there anymore. I don't use very drying skincare products anyways, because that just aggravated my acne, but they are not moisture sealing either. The beauty items I included in the list are basically restoring/maintaining moisture, fighting hyper pigmentation and keeping the skin clean and clear.

Review: NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil

As I promised in my last NARS haul blog post (here), and as you can see in the title, I will be reviewing the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Never Say Never. And yes, it still reminds me of Bieber. I still don't understand why NARS decided to take inspiration from his songs. Anyhow...

NARS describes the product as following:
"The convenience of a pencil with the application of a lipstick in a jumbo-size crayon design. Instantly coats lips with rich pigment, imparting a velvet matte finish for seamless color. The long lasting yet non-drying formula is enriched with special emollients for a creamy texture, while a combination of unique silicones ensures long-lasting, velvety color for hours."

I have been loving the lip pencil, and have been wearing it quite a lot. I love the application of the pencil, as it's quite precise and it's nice to hold as it's a quite thick pencil. The product is really pigmented and I feel quite chic, vampy and sophisticated when I wear this lip color - if that makes sense.

Rimmel Kate Spring Lipstick Collection

I'm sure you all heard of Kate's collaboration with Rimmel last year, which was very exciting. I don't really like drugstore lipsticks, as I find they smell a bit funky. But I still got Kate's lipsticks as I heard loads of good things about them.

I got 05 and 10, which are a gorgeous pink and a classic red. They are so pigmented and creamy, and basically my favorite drugstore lipsticks, yet. So you can imagine how excited I was when I saw in ELLE UK that there would be a spring collection!

So when my mum asked me to join her to the city center I was super excited to check out the new Rimmel Kate collection. And of course, it was not launched yet in the Netherlands. You British gals are so lucky! As I kind of expected it a little bit, I wasn't as sad, but definitely am looking forward to swatch them myself!

The picture on top is the one I took from the Rimmel ad in ELLE UK July, and those colors look great don't they? On the internet I looked at Rimmel's website for their swatches, but honestly they don't do the product any justice. The colors are so off for some, I will post them below so you can see yourself.

Fashion Rave: the Colored Satchel

I thought I'd do a fashion post this time instead of a ramble or beauty post. Today I'm going to write about a product that has been on my "to buy" radar for a long, looong time - the Cambridge Satchel. The picture above shows a small selection of my favorite summery/spring colored satchels, created by yours truly on polyvore. Doesn't just he sight of it alone make you happy and smiley already?

The satchels are from a British company called 'The Cambridge Satchel Company'. All satchels are handmade and the quality is superb - so I have heard.

Little update: exams, planned shopping trip!

Hi guys,

Just a little update, have been studying like crazy for the past couple of days and am right now doing the BEC Higher exam, which proves my fluency in English. Oh well, not really right now, you know what I mean right?;-)

I just finished the writing, reading and listening part. Am super tired as I had to wake up at 6.15 already! Now I just have to wait for my oral, which is in an hour precisely. After this I only have one other exam and then I am done with school for this school year! Can you believe it? Well, I can't! It has gone by so fast, it's unbelievable!

Now on to the interesting part of this post: my planned shopping trip!

Review: Vichy Dermablend Foundation

A few days ago I went to the pharmacy to pick something up for my mom, and saw that the Vichy Dermablend foundation in the new formula had finally arrived in the Netherlands! I know it has been out for ages in many countries, but I think it just launched in the Netherlands for about a month or maybe two. I have no idea, actually.

The reason why I was so interested in their new formula is because makeup artist Lisa Eldridge did an acne covering video on it and it looked so natural on the model! If you haven't seen her video, you have to do so now! Or well, after you finished reading my blog that is. ;-)

Dermablend was designed to conceal facial imperfections while providing a complete, natural looking coverage for even the most serious skin imperfections and flaws. Which is perfect for me, as I rarely have spots now (finally, after 7 years of blemish attacks!) and have some hyper-pigmentation on my cheeks.

First NARS Haul!

Recently I ordered some goodies from the NARS website. They had a special offer for their Facebook fans, and with the code "narsfan" you would get a mini laguna bronzer (!) with an order above €40 and complimentary shipping. Now that's an offer I couldn't resist!

I have been wanting to buy the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer already since it's launch and this offer just gave me the push I needed. As the moisturizer was €38, and I really wanted to get the mini Laguna bronzer, I had to look for something else to buy.

Seriously there was TOO much to choose from! I think I spent two days hesitating on what to buy and decided on the NARS Velvet Matte Lip pencil in Never Say Never. Am I the only one that thinks of Justin Bieber every time I read that? Anyways.
