Hourglass Opaque Rouge in Raven

Living in London costs me buckets of money, paired with a full-time unpaid internship and an unhealthy addiction for all things beauty doesn't make life easier. After a good 4 months of breaking the bank I decided I really had to stop spending loads of money and put myself on a spending ban. Everything went quite well for a week or so, until last Bank Holiday Monday... While venturing into Clapham and discovery many cool restaurants (which I'll visit soon with my mate) I caught myself wandering into Space NK. The caption "bye-bye spending ban and hello guilty pleasure" would fit this moment spot on. 30 seconds and 4 swatches later, I was sold to Hourglass Opaque Rouge in RavenBam. Sometimes life is just that simple.

A semi-matte orange-red lip that claimed to last all day? I had to add that to my collection. I gave it a real challenge by trialling it on a regular day at work - minor snacking, major drinking (non-alcoholic that is, of course). I can proudly say that I left the office with gorgeously stained red lips, best thing: no touch-ups needed! Though it is a matte lipstick, it doesn't crease into lines, doesn't bleed, doesn't dry out your lips... doesn't do all the things you don't want your lipstick to do. There is minor color transfer when you eat or drink, but as it stains your lips so well, no one will notice. Setting you back with £23 it's certainly not the cheapest lipstick out there, but you get a bang for your buck. Verdict: will be living on nothing but Sainsbury's basics until I leave and will be eyeing for my second (and third!) one. I never learn...

Have you ever tried Hourglass Opaque Rouge, would you consider getting it?

    1. Well... I'm glad I'm not alone in this then, ha. Believe me, I didn't think I'd be able to pull it off - it's VERY flattering on all skin tones. They do have more neutral shades if that's your thing (and a drop dead gorgeous red - ICON). Thanks so much for following babe, means a lot. x

    1. Yes, the finish is amazing - matte but not too matte. Hate to say this but: you need this in your life. x
