Hair Me Out

Oily roots, dry ends? Yep, the story of my life. Ever since I permed the ends of my hair (yes, I know what you're thinking and no I don't look like a poodle), they have been very sensitive and immensely dry. These past few weeks I've been using an army of hair products to keep my ends healthy and smooth without adding extra nourishment to my no-extra-oil-needing-roots.

For shampoo I've been using Kérastase Bain Divalent for a while now and it seems to be working for my hair at the moment. I try to wash my hair every other day and with this shampoo that just works perfectly fine. As my roots tend to get oily very fast I used to just stray away from any kind of conditioner as it'd just be too nourishing and weigh my hair down. Now my ends are very dry, I like to use a variety of treatments to make my hair appear healthy and not damage it further.

Macadamia Deep Repair Mask is one of those treatments that have been a godsend. I use this once or twice a week, depending on how dry my ends are, and apply this on my hair directly when I've rinsed out the shampoo. You can immediately apply this on wet hair and as it's so concentrated, it doesn't need any heat to do its job. I comb this through and leave it sit for 7 minutes (as is recommended). I make sure this is applied just until my shoulder as only my ends need more nourishment. I would recommend applying this all over if you have really dry hair/scalp. When you rinse it off, you immediately feel that your hair is smoother, softer (yes, I confess, minor silicones are to thank for this) and looks very healthy. On days when I don't use the Mask, I use CHI Keratin Conditioner to still nourish my hair. I don't use both items together as I feel that's too rich for my hair type.

After rinsing it all out, I then wrap my hair in a towel and gently squeeze it. My hairdresser told me not to rub my hair, especially since I've permed my ends, as this can result in breakage. I then blow-dry my hair till damp, apply a hair treatment or oil and then blow-dry it till it's completely dry. Lately I've been preferring BioSilk Silk Therapy over anything as it really smoothes my hair out on the days I don't use the Mask. It also smells amazing, makes my hair very silky soft and just leaves my end waved very nicely. That's all I ask for.

What array of products do you use to treat your hair?
