Although this post sounds more like a two for one at your local supermarket, I swear it isn't. If you've read my New Year's Resolutions post, then you must know that one of them was to tone up, lose weight and work out. Sadly for me, it hasn't worked out that well, and the only thing I can blame are the last weeks of my semester at Uni and myself for not kicking butt. So with me being home-bound most of the time, I had to find something that would be at the comfort of my own home and that would be hassle-free. I've been playing around with the whole body brushing treatments thang and have finally found the products that work great on their own and even better together.
There are tons of types of body brushes out there, and personally I think there's no best one in particular, it just depends on your preference. I've got the Aromatherapy Associates Polishing Body Brush, which is easy to hold with the hand strap. It is important that you pay attention that the bristles of the brush are natural bristles and not synthetic ones. Mine are made from 'soft' Cactus Sisal, whatever that may be. I don't know why they added 'soft' into the product description, as quite frankly, body brushing is all but that. I explained in a previous post on how to use the brush exactly, so if you're interested in the details you can read it here. A short re-cap: use long strokes and brush towards your heart. It's great for body toning, detoxing, exfoliating and to stimulate blood circulation.
Always body brush before you shower or bathe, as you then can rinse off the toxins. I love using something invigorating and calming, as you are literally brushing your body with a brush. balance Me. Super Toning Body Wash is just perfect for that. It is 99% natural and specially designed to improve skin tone, soften and smooth the skin and to encourage good circulation. It's packed with juniper, bergamot, geranium and lavender, creating a good mix for a zesty and relaxing scent.
So far I haven't seen any weight loss or toning up (in my defense, I just started this combination just a bit longer than a week ago), but I do think it's a good habit to start and I just luuuurve this body wash. It's not only great after a body brush sesh, but also after an active work out.
Do you body brush and how do you like to tone up?
