Frankly, I've never been one to obsess over Clarins make up, but with their recent Spring collection 'Opalescense', the Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base caught my eye, got me rather excited and left me slightly tongue-twisted. A dewy primer that gives you a subtle glow, while neutralising imperfections? You don't have to say that twice.
With the launch of their spring campaign, radiant skin was the key focus, with the Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base as hero product —the perfect balance of a cosmetic multi-purpose product. Is it a tinted moisturiser, is it a primer? It's the Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base! Jokes aside, this little tube is brilliant. Packaging wise, it's very sleek and travel friendly. It comes with a nifty pump, which makes dispensing the product easy peasy and keeps it free from leaking. There are three shades in total, 01 Rose for fair complexions and extra radiance, 02 Champagne for redness correction and 03 Peach especially made to brighten darker complexions.
I went ahead and got myself 02 Champagne and was intrigued to see how effective it would be on my skin, taking into account I've got some major hyper pigmentation issues. The product itself looks rather yellow-orange, but once you apply it on the skin it seamlessly blends into the skin, leaving no colour or patches behind. My hyper pigmentation spots are not completely covered by it, but it does neutralise a whole lot. After this, I follow up with my foundation (or tinted moisturiser) and concealer. I found that when I use the Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base, I don't have to use as much concealer and my complexion looks radiant and glowy, but not too much.
It's especially great for when you wear medium-full coverage foundations, as they can make your face look rather flat and dull. Just pop on the Base before your foundation, and you look healthier as ever. I did find that when using very moisturising bases, such as tinted moisturisers, a little powder would make my base sit better and not slip off throughout the day. I'm not quite sure whether it would work on very oily complexions, as it did slip off a teeny bit without powder on my combo skin. All in all I highly recommend this little tube and have been wearing it every day since I got it, and that everyone, says a whole lot.
What are your thoughts on the Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base? Is it a product you'd try?
