It’s All About The Magic Balm

It’s no secret I love and cherish my lip products and strangely, I rarely go for a drugstore number. Not because I think I’m too good for them, but simply they have either an overly chemical scent to it or it smells like I rubbed Strawberry Shortcake on my lips. Neither is really my thang. But when I saw the L’Oréal Infallible 3X Lipstick, that claims 24h wear and that doesn’t crease, budge nor feels sticky —I simply had to buy it. And I’ll say just this: it’s all about the Magic Balm.

Packaging and scent wise, L’Oréal Infallible 3X Lipstick is not really mind blowing, nor do I really have anything bad to say about it. One side has the actual lipstick and the other side has a balm, which I’ll dub the Magic Balm. I picked up the shade 506 Red Infaillible, a true red (see semi-pouting pic above). Application wise I find it similar to Hourglass Opaque Liquid Lipstick, but then sticky. Believe me if I say I was truly mortified. However, when applying the Magic Balm, true magic happens. It doesn’t stick anymore, it doesn’t budge. Forever. I ate dim sum, I had noodles, then a sandwich and then some other bites (don’t judge my eating habits) and it did. not. budge. the entire day.

Do make sure you cover all the edges with your Balm, as otherwise things can go a bit messy. But that’s the only semi-bad thing I’ve got to say about this. The perfect lip product for when you don’t want to splurge on a long lasting lipstick, and one that actually works. If you don’t believe me, you’ve got to try it out yourself. I’ll just tell you that it took me 3 cotton pads soaked in Bioderma Créaline H2O to get it off my lips properly, and then it was still stained. Talk about long lasting.

Thoughts?

PS. image disclaimer: I have no clue how my lips got this pouty and huge... It must be the lipstick, ha!

  1. OMG I NEED TO TRY THIS!!! i've been looking for something impenetrable and this seem like its it! it just needs to pass the kiss test next. (feel free to take the test on and tell me the results....even if it means making out with the back of your hand)

  2. Oh you'll love this! Well, no major lip locking or French kissing for me, but it did put up the test for many birthday kisses (on the cheek that is ;-).

  4. It is, to be honest: the lipstick would be nothing without the balm. I've yet got to test it on other formulas though. Let me know what you think of the product!

  7. Aw thank you, you're sweet. I haven't tried either of those so cannot really compare them, but my friend uses the Maybelline one and she swears by it. These formulas are especially great when you have to be at events or for a night out when you don't have the time to touch up all the time.
