Lola's Apothecary Lavender & Vanilla Body Oil

It ain't a secret that I've got a weakness for beautiful packaging —I mean, let's face it: pretty things just trigger our brains. And my trigger is something that looks similar to the very bottle pictured above. A pharmacist vibe, with an actual plant (flower) in it? Yeah, that's the geek in me jumping up and down. Rest assured, it's not only the exterior that's got me excited...

Lola's Apothecary's products are made in a small farm in Devon, England, where each product is handmade and 100% natural —perfect for the most delicate and sensitive skin. All products are packaged in a sturdy glass bottle, which is perfect for reusing. A mini flower vase, anyone?

I tried their Lavender & Vanilla Body Oil, which is made out of a blend with Argan-, Sweet Almond- and Rosehip Oil which nourish and repair, whilst Lavender and Vanilla trigger the senses and act very calming. When uncorking the bottle, you can smell the Lavender very strongly, but once applied to the skin, the Vanilla notes slowly come through.

The only pitfall I have with the product is the user-friendliness. Being such a klutz I have difficulties with getting the oil out, without wasting product (i.e. pour it on the floor). But besides that, this is perfect for those with dry skin and need an immediate boost of nourishment. Because it is natural and doesn't contain any mineral oil or silicones, it sinks into the skin almost immediately and leaves the skin super smooth and soft. The most nourishing body oil I've ever come across. Lola's Apothecary have a range of Bath Oils, Bath Milk and Bath Salts as well as two other Body Oil additions, which I am dying to try out next.

  6. This sounds amazing! I love body oils, although they aren't the most user friendly, but they feel so darn beautiful; this one is no exception. x

  9. I know right. Though I heard that they're re-designing the packaging, so I'll keep my eyes peeled for that ;-).

  10. AH, yes I saw those a lot too. Especially in the country side. Damn, those snakes shared the pants off me.

  13. Facial oils are brilliant. I used to stray away from anything oil related (I've got combo-oily skin), but now I wouldn't be anywhere without them. Body oils are amazing though, I'd recommend trying NUXE Huile Prodigeuse – it's a great one to start testing out the waters ;-).
