Sample Lovin'

Before there were beauty blogs or even before Makeupalley, the way to decide whether a you'd splurge on a product or not would be through sampling products. Even now, I tend to ask for a sample of a product or buy a travel size first, to see whether it suits my skin or if it actually does something. And out of the bunch I've been trying in the recent weeks, these were the ones that have climbed onto my "Must Buy ASAP" list a.k.a.) someone hide my credit card, pronto.

Heaven Overnight Success is an evening moisturiser that's packed with Vitamins B5, C and E as well as Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide, which makes it possible for your skin to breathe overnight. Designed as an anti-ageing treatment, I've actually been liking it a lot. It can make your skin sting a little bit, but that's just the ingredients doing its thang. The next morning my skin's brighter, smoother and well nourished. I tend to use this when my skin's in dire need of a quick and effective pick me up.

Another moisturiser I've really come to enjoy using, is Pai Geranium & Thistle Balancing Day Cream (from their Perfect Balance set). It's been specially designed for those with acne-prone, combination/oily complexions. In short it's a non-pore blocking, light-yet-nourishing, skin calming and mild anti-bacterial moisturiser, which I'm definitely planning to repurchase in the future.

The last two bits are masks, which happens to be my favourite type of skincare, because I always love a good pamper. An absolute treat is Aurelia Refine & Polish Miracle Balm, which contains gorgeous ingredients, such as Baobab, an essential oil blend of Chamomile, Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Bergamot. The consistency is quite sticky, I generously apply it on my face and neck and rinse it off after 5-10 minutes. Once it comes in touch with water, it turns into a milky consistency, and it leaves your skin super soft and luminous.

And last but not least, Aesop Chamomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Masque. We all know its more popular sister, the Parsley Seed Mask, but I think I may like this one even better. It contains Chamomile Bud, Tea Tree Leaf and Evening Primrose, making it not too drying for the skin. I actually prefer to use this as a(n overnight) spot treatment and the next day the spot has either shrunk in size or grown a head. So. Good.
