Mouthwatering Berry

In case you haven't noticed, I'm a lipstick addict. I've got a full drawer —which, by the way, is on the brink of exploding and needs some re-organisation ASAP— of lipsticks of different colours, and heck even quite a few ones that are spot on the same, but differ in brand, formula or texture. Hey, I like my options. My latest addition is the YSL Sheer Candy in Mouthwatering Berry and, err, is it a bad thing that the product name was the main reason I caved, conquered and bought it?

Partner in Cream

I kid you not when I say that this little pot of moisture has changed the condition of my skin for better, and that in merely three weeks. Although I do exaggerate from time to time, this time I’m as serious as I can be. You may have noticed that AHAVA is a brand I’ve recently accustomed myself with, and I can tell you this: I am impressed.

One, Two, Step

Ask around and you'll know I'm not one to fuss with haircare. Being blessed with easy-going locks, the only thing I do when I wake up is to comb my hair with my fingers and put it in a bun -it stays this way until I arrive at the office and then my hair is just the perfect amount of 'messy-but-classy'. Recently I've been trying out some things for my damaged ends and have added two products to my routine that don't require much time and effort, but do show pretty darn amazing results.

Biafine

When my friend told me he was headed to Paris, all I could hear was "French pharmacy". So while I was telling him all the good spots to visit I also nudged him in the direction of my favourite pharmacy —Rue du Four, Saint Germain-des Près in case you're wondering. I repurchased a few bits and asked him to pick up Biafine, a must in each French family's medicine cupboard apparently.

Dinner with Mr. Darcy

Jane Austen was a name I've heard lots of, though as unbelievable this may sound, I've never had to read any of her books in Uni, so I didn't. That was until I got my Kindle, and Pride and Prejudice was the first book I've put on there. Verdict? A few weeks later I became obsessed with the air, the old ways of talking and simply Mr. Darcy himself. So when the book Dinner with Mr. Darcy was brought to light, I simply had to have it. As simple as that.

Just In: Peter Pilotto for Target

Oh, limited designer collaborations... they are my guilty pleasure. I've always watched the Target designer collections from afar as they are impossible to get my hands on when you're based in Europe --but not this time. My favourite online fashion e-tailer, Net-a-Porter, had the exclusive rights to sell some curated pieces, which got me very excited. A few days prior to the launch I made a list of bits I wanted, and quelle surprise, I managed to get all of it. Whoopsie.

Pumped Up Kicks

Rewind to the late 90s, I was an everything-pink-yes-please aka princess-dresses-all-day-every-day kinda gal. Forward to high school, I was the chick with the most kicks. I don't know why, but when I tell people that I used to be obsessed with sneakers, they look at me like I'm telling a bit fat lie. Well, I'm not. I had 5 different pairs of Chuck Taylor's (these were tha bomb) and a truck load of other sneaker offerings from the likes of K-Swiss, Adidas and Nike. After high school, I exchanged my sneakers for (ankle)boots and heels, and today... I'm back on the sneaker track.

Morning Challenge, Accepted

When the lovely Jenn posted a post counting all the products she uses in the morning and kinda indirectly challenged me us to see if we could top her score (in this case it's the less, the better), the challenge was accepted. A few scribbles further and a "ha, I win" later, this post was born. Not that it was a competition or anything...

Eye See

Often the (under) eye area gets neglected, even though it is the most delicate part of the skin, and the the part which shows signs of ageing. Yes, I was one of those people who applied eye cream like it was a part time job, until a year or two ago, when eye creams became a staple in my day and night routine. Different seasons equals different skin needs, so I've made a selection of my favourite eye treatments that I can always fall back on.

Just In: AHAVA

AHAVA is one of those brands that I had heard about but never really tried much from, besides dipping into one of their starter kits a year ago. This pretty much changed dramatically two weeks ago when I was invited to their press event which was all in honour of their latest product additions. The reason behind me being invited? Not because I'm a blogger -- truth to be told, I'm not really acknowledged in the Netherlands, but because you're looking at the new AHAVA intern. I met the team, learned about the brand and when I started last Monday, I walked away with a bag of goodies.

Read My Lips

My lip balm addiction collection started from a very young age, where I almost owned all the colours and flavours of Labello chapsticks. Now, having continued my obsession with lip balms, I've got enough to build an entire dollhouse. I always have at least 3 different lip balms (handbag, makeup bag, jacket) with me, wherever I go, whenever I go --my lips get chapped very easily, especially with the cold wind outside and the heater blasting indoors.

Weekend Wish List #8

It's been a while since I've made one of these - that's because I've been quite content with the stuff I've got, and I've splurged quite a bit in December and January and bought so much clothes, shoes, skincare, books, evuhriething. As I've commenced working on my thesis as of last week, and I should be busy quite soon, I'll try to not buy anything this month and to only live through making [wish] lists. I know that online shopping has almost become my favourite kind of shopping, but I've got a good feeling that I'll manage to refrain myself. I think....

Just In: Aesop

Aesop is a brand not highly distributed in the Netherlands, which is one of the many reasons why I miss living in London —the beauty access over there is no kidding. When I was headed to Amsterdam, I grabbed my chance to break my spending ban and treat myself to some Aesop.

EX1 Cosmetics InvisiWear Liquid Foundation

A foundation that claims to look like it isn't there, while giving you enough coverage to fake that eau naturel look? Oh yes, count me in. EX1 Cosmetics is a brand specially created for woman of Asian, Middle/Far-Eastern or Mediterranean heritage. I'm at the lighter side of the spectrum, so finding a matching shade has slightly become easier over the years, however I've got friends who are medium toned (and Asian) who have slight difficulties with finding matching shades that make them look not too dark and not too fair. If you're finding yourself in this category, read on. Cause I think I might've got something for you.

A New Start, A New Beginning

Tomorrow is the big day, or well, the day that I will be working again and that I won't be returning to Uni for at least 5 months. I'm very excited and a tad nervous for my first day, but I've met the team last week and they were all such lovely people. So this will be a little update post on the next chapter of my book and I thought it'd be nice to share it. That, and it immediately acts as a diary entry. Score!
