RMS Beauty "Un" Cover-Up

It's been a while since I've gotten the RMS Beauty "Un" Cover-Up Concealer (see my Cult Beauty Haul) and I can report back that it's exceeded my expectations. Honestly I wasn't expecting to like this very much and was rather skeptical. An organic concealer with medium coverage, and lasting power? Yeah, right... Like those exist. Well, now I know they actually do.

What I've Been Loving (April 2014)

Although the temperature had its ups and downs in April, I can say the weather has been amazing ever since it was my birthday. Two weeks in as a 21-year-old and honestly I don't sense much of a difference from you 20-year-old self —only now I can legally enter clubs and bars. Anyways, ramblings aside, this month's favourites consist of quite a few make up products, and a new discovery for body care. So let's crackin'.

Super Healthy Snacks and Treats

I'm by no means a foodie, but I just love food and snacking. Healthy snacking is something I do often, but churning on carrots and slices of cucumber loses its appeal quite fast, so I was delighted when I discovered Super Healthy Snacks and Treats. Written by Jenna Zoe, it's a book combined with things I love the most: gorgeous photography and food that is both delicious and good for the skin and body. Score!

NARS Blushes Are Tha Bomb

Well... the title is rather explanatory I'd say? Quite embarrassing, but I've only now taken my first steps into the blusher world of NARS. The cult blushers in the industry and it is about time for me to add my two cents to the table.

It’s All About The Magic Balm

It’s no secret I love and cherish my lip products and strangely, I rarely go for a drugstore number. Not because I think I’m too good for them, but simply they have either an overly chemical scent to it or it smells like I rubbed Strawberry Shortcake on my lips. Neither is really my thang. But when I saw the L’Oréal Infallible 3X Lipstick, that claims 24h wear and that doesn’t crease, budge nor feels sticky —I simply had to buy it. And I’ll say just this: it’s all about the Magic Balm.

The Easter Bunny Arrived

Happy Easter y'all! I hope you're all spending today with your family, friends and beloved ones. Easter is one of those holidays I really enjoy as its one of those days I allow myself to rest and pamper away. What better to do that with the always amazing (and sometimes slightly overwhelming) smelling LUSH bath goodies.

Currently Reading

I've said it once, and I'll say it again I'm reading so much more, ever since I spend a part of my budget on hardcovers and paperbacks. I'm a reader, what can I say... For a change I thought it'd be fun to share some books I'm about to start reading and giving you an idea of what kind of books I like to read.

It’s My Party

… and I cry if I want to. But I don’t because today is my b to the irthday! Yep, it’s right people, I’m turning 21, or well, I should say today is the day I woke up as a 21-year-old. Can tell you this now: it feels the same. To shake things up a bit, and because it is my party, today a very edited list of things I really want. And hopefully, I’ll be able to get these over the coming years. What I got for my birthday you ask? I have no clue, as I left the house at 6am already. Yay for traineeships.

The Empties Edit #2

Truthfully, I'm surprised I managed to finish so many products in such short notice and because my last empties post was so popular, I thought I'd do another one. This post is full with my personal favourites, and I'd repurchase these in a heartbeat.

Expect The Unexpected

I know I've been dropping hints that I'm shaking up things here at 9 out of ten a bit. Nothing too crazy, but layout out wise I've been changing minor bits and content wise there will be some changes as well. I'm using this post as a round up to show you what you can expect to see on the blog the coming weeks.

Smells Like Green Tea

I confess, I’m really sensitive to yuckie scents and odors, hence I’ve always got a room diffuser (NEOM and Ancienne Ambiance do great ones), I always open my windows as soon as I get home and I’ve got a selection of candles to amp it up. Soaps however, were never a product that I’d view as a room scent. I mean… It’s soap. Where Roger & Gallet’s soaps being one of the most luxurious and multi-functional packaged soaps I’ve ever bought, I decided to road test another functionality. And I can tell you the box is ticked.

SAMPAR Equalizing Foam Peel

Two years ago I was introduced to chemical exfoliants for the first time, and I haven’t looked back to the traditional beaded scrubs since. The biggest difference between a beaded scrub and a chemical exfoliant is that it doesn't contain any particles and grains so it's perfect for all skin types really. SAMPAR Equalizing Foaming Peel is the newest addition to my chemical peel stash and deserves its spot fair and square.

A Penny For Your Thoughts

It's Monday and every week I  take a minute to reflect on my weekend in the morning to sort out my thoughts and try to start my Monday as positive as I can. Personally I find it a great way to not focus on the #MondayBlues and start the week with a bright mindset. Although it's easier said than done, It's always easier with a visual and sparks of inspiration. So I'm starting this new feature, where each Monday morning an 'inspiring' quote, statement or picture will fill a post that will hopefully lift your spirits and brighten up your morning, even if it's just a bit.

How's Life?

First off, I am deeply ashamed of myself as I've been lacking a bit in consistency with managing my blog, replying to comments and tweeting and such - my sincerest apologies. I'm planning lots of cool features and I've got loads of nice ideas, the problem is time and time management. And yes, sadly, it's all due to increasing workload at the company and a pressing deadline for my thesis. All of you have been super supportive and I thought it was about time for a small update on what I've been up to.

Jouer Matte Moisture Tint

After many reviews, cravings and sleepless nights (kidding), I finitely bit the bullet and ordered Jouer Matte Moisture Tint. Something matte, oil-free, and with a good punch of coverage? Ha, that's something I'd to try myself.
