A Penny For Your Thoughts #14

We only live once, so don't be afraid to break barriers, get out of your comfort zone and do things we usually wouldn't do. Step out of your usual routine and do something different to broaden your horizon and seek a different adventure.

I'm So Excited

... and I just can't hide it. A little while back I've dropped a slight note that I might be moving back to England, and today people, I'd like to say: it's definite. I'll be crossing the pond in mid September and I can't wait.

The SPF Edit

I'll be honest, I've never really been the type to apply SPF all day, err' day. You know me, I simply despise extra hassle in my daily routine. However, with more examples of post-sun damage popping up her and there (e.g., my 40 y/o neighbour who looks like she's well over 75 due to keeping up her excessive tan), I've been slapping on the sunscreen like nobody's business. Over the timespan of a year, I've tried and tested quite a few formulas, and only the best of the best made the cut (HA, I've always wanted to use that expression).

And I Finally Caved...

If I would get a penny for each glowing review on the Armani Luminous Silk foundation, I'd be a very, very wealthy lady. After a year of teasing myself, I finally bit the bullet and just went for it (the fact that I still had some credit left on a gift card may have helped a bit as well).

Double Trouble

When skincare goddess, Caroline Hirons (durr), says a product is good stuff, I'm one of those gals who run to the store to grab one of each —to the extend that my bank account allows me. Aesop Control Gel happens to be one of these products. I picked it up, used it religiously, but wasn't really sure what to think about it. Quite frankly I had a revelation when I finished this stuff, and yearned for more.

We've Got A French Pharmacy Problem...

Some might think I have a French pharmacy problem – I on the other hand, like to think of myself as an advocate for a bon vivant. My parents were in a spontaneous mood and decided on a rainy day to drive to Lille as a surprise day-trip. A surprise it definitely was, but as a semi French pharmacy connaisseur, and simply a person who hadn't spent all her fortune in Lisbon, I felt I had to splurge here and there. And it happened. Badly.

In Perfect Balance

Finding the right skincare for you is always a tricky task, as everyone has different skin types, concerns and product preferences. This is where trial and travel kits come in. Besides the fact that you'll always get value for money, the products inside are just the best way to familiarise yourself with the brand and a specific range. When Pai launched their 'Anywhere Essentials Collection' I immediately placed an order for their Perfect Balance kit, as I've always been meaning to try more of the brand and what better excuse did I need?

The Body Oil Edit

It's been only a year since I've dabbed into the big pool of body oils. I've warmed up on the thought to use oils on my face and hair, but my body... No way, José. After lots of pushing and pulling from both my beauty-conscious friends and the Beauty Industry, I've discovered that body oils are the best thing ever. My skin usually isn't dry to begin with, but I've found a great selection of body oils that don't make you look (or feel) like a Sweaty Betty. So yeah, it took me quite some time to warm up to body oils, but boy, do I love 'em now.
