I Came. I Saw. And Here's My MAC Haul.

Me and MAC go way way back. Though, somewhere along the line we just kinda forgot about each other. MAC was my first 'non drugstore' foundation, and I haven't looked back ever since. It was my first MUA experience that wasn't disastrous. Every once and again, my heart flutters and I end up walking away one MAC lipstick richer. Though last week, the damage was much bigger than just that one purchase. #SorryNotSorry

With the mind to only walk away with the MAC Studio Finish Concealer Duo (more on this later), I got distracted by the new Pencilled In Lip Liners, and namely Ruby Woo. When I told the SA that I've never tried, let alone owned one, she was baffled and handed the Ruby Woo Lip Pencil and Lipstick to me shortly after. I guess I can now understand the love, hype and cult-status behind Ruby Woo. It's a gorgeous matte, long-lasting, cool-toned red, which will suit any squinting. For me, I find that red really brightens up my overall complexion and I always get tons of compliments when wearing red lipstick, so I went for it.

Going back to my initial purchase, the MAC Studio Finish Concealer Duo has been on my radar ever since last December. Something that covers blemishes, is water-resistant, fragrance-free and non-acnegenic and is something I clearly need. Don't get me wrong, I still love my RMS "Un" Cover-Up – using this every day – but for those long days, I need something a bit more long-lasting. I've only tried this a handful times, but I love it. It's slightly creamy and very easy to blend. I'm shade NW25/NC30, which I personally never would've guessed, so I'd recommend getting shade matched in store. After I left the counter, leaving the SA very content and my bank account with a huge dent, I headed to the Shavata counter to get my brows done. I mean... damage was done anyways.

  2. I'm not too sure about the NW side (the more pinky one), as I find it a bit thick for under the eyes, but I'll have to play around with it a bit more. It's a perfect match for my skin tone and covers blemishes so well!

  3. I didn't know the concealer comes as a palette too! But yes since its the size of the eyeshadow it only makes sense! So did you get two shades or what?

  4. Do you rate the concealer? I've tried the MAC pro long wear concealer, which was good but I didn't like how it dispensing so much product in one pump. I tested Bobbi Brown concealer and also the Laura Mercier but not sure where to invest my money!

  5. It's one of the new permanent launches, definitely worth checking out! It comes in a set of two shades – a NW and NC.

  6. So far I like it! I've been using it for less than a week though. As I haven't tried the Pro Long Wear Concealer, I'm not sure how it compares... I love Bobbi Brown's Creamy Concealer for under the eyes and it's a love-hate relationship with LM. I've repurchased the Undercover Pot twice and I keep falling in and out of love with it. I'd say the MAC one is a tad more creamier and higher in coverage than LM's.

  7. Haha girl! I can definitely agree with that - the damage is done anyways :P I haven't popped by MAC in a while because I've been so busy, but that lipstick is to die for!

  8. *virtual high five* I'm loving Ruby Woo a lot and can't believe I didn't give in earlier. Though I have to say, my L'Oreal Julienne's Red Lipstick is really great too and about half the price.

  11. Difficult to say as I don't have dry skin... It worked well on my blemishes though. I'd say it'd be best to try it out in store, as it's creamy but not as creamy as... RMS Beauty's "Un" Cover-Up for example.

  12. I know... #BBloggerProbz. What exactly are you looking for in a concealer? Blemishes? Under-eye? Natural?

  16. I love Ruby Woo! Such a gorgeous red. It's a bit on the dry side and tugs a bit on the lips, but it's so worth it because of the colour and longevity!

I haven't tried the Studio Finish concealer yet, but it's definitely on my list to try at some point!
