I know what you must be thinking: 'WengYee, what happened to your New Year's resolutions?' Well, does it count that I ordered (nearly) all of these just before the new year started? The longer I blog and get to understand beauty products, the more I tend to steer away from chemical products and try to embrace the natural. Over the past few years I've been slowly (and I really mean slowly) integrating some bits and bobs in my routine and I think 2015 may be my year. And perhaps the year of green beauty? Anyone?

Omorovicza has always been an uber-luxe Hungarian spa brand in my mind. Products infused with Hungary’s mineral-rich healing water and naturally sourced ingredients, all packaged in heavy glass packaging accompanied by a hefty price tag. Living on a student loan doesn't exactly allow me to indulge in such luxury products, but having generous parents does. After gushing about Omorovicza's Thermal Cleansing Balm to my mum, the deed was done and I received this lil' pot of goodness for Christmas.

Indie Lee has been a brand I've always been meaning to try, but I never got around to trying for whatever reason. One day I was just browsing around to seek something new and their Squalene Oil grabbed my attention – I just had to get it. Maybe it was the free shipping promo or maybe it was the fact that my skin was a mess and I needed something to comfort me. Whatever it was, I'm so glad that I finally bit the bullet, 'cause it's awesome.

So iCal told me it's Blue Monday today, and according to a quick Google search, it is supposedly the most depressing day of the year. Why? Because someone decided it is. That being said, something blue that still brings a slight smile to my face are my new ZARA pointed-toe pumps in blue python print. Aren't they just gorgeous? Perfect to wear them down, paired with rolled up jeans and a simple blouse or look super sophisticated when worn with a nice (and simple) dress. Oh the choices!

Can we all take a minute to appreciate the utter Scandinavian gorgeousness that's in front of our eyes? Yes? Thank you. When I booked my ticket to fly back to Amsterdam, the first thing on my to-do list was to visit & Other Stories. My weekly hang out spot when I still lived in London, so I couldn't be more excited when they finally opened their doors on my home-turf! Aside from great streamlined and simplistic clothes, shoes and jewellery, they recently brought out a candle range. Being a big lover on candles and the store, I had to try these. And okay, the packaging played a role as well...

You know those products everyone seems to love and talk about and you're just like: meh? Well, Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap was something like that for me. I won't lie, it did slightly intrigue me – how could it not – however the packaging and price tag left me uninterested and I just carried on living my life, cleaning my make up brushes with Olive Oil and baby shampoo. That was until I found this bar of soap when I was doing a winter clean of my beauty drawers and decided to give it a go. And I get the craze, I totally get it.

I'm (finally) back in England from my 4 week long break and whilst I'd be lying if I said I was reading all the time, I did finish reading two books. These happen to be two of the most funny and relevant books of this time, all according to yours truly.

By the time you're reading this, I've probably loaded up the trunk with my luggage and hopped in the car, as I'll be flying back to Leeds today (if my plane takes off that is – fingers crossed). My flight isn't till later today, but I'll be having brunch with my parents and sister before they drop me off at the airport. I tend to not wear any make up when I fly, especially with long-haul flights. But as I'll have quite some errands to do when I touch down, I thought I'd share my go-to products when flying short-haul. Something light, natural and luminous.

(Everyone who gets the Clueless reference gets a cookie). Facial massages, lymph drainage... Perhaps one of the most featured beauty buzz words of the moment? Sadly for me, a visit to a facialist is not in the books and I'm simply a tad too lazy to do facial massages on a daily basis, which is where facial rollers enter the picture.

If you told me a year ago that I would be raving about body exfoliators, I'd never believe you. Body oils —a big fat yes. But exfoliators that'd make me talk faster because of excitement? Nah. Frankly, that was because I'd never tried a proper body exfoliator before, and here I am writing about my favourite so far. Meet REN Moroccan Rose Otto Sugar Body Polish.

I know I'm a bit late *cough* 2 years *cough* to the party, but I've got to say it: I'm obsessed with Indeed Labs's Hydraluron. As a blogger I try my hardest to avoid following the crowd in trying products, as often views get clouded and people say the same thing for the sake of saying the same thing, though not for this. I tried to fight it but then a good friend of mine [who has a similar mindset] caved and told me I would love this and had to try it. And so I did...

Skincare is something I experiment with a lot and I enjoy switching products around and to try new things all the time. Spot treatments, on the other hand, I am rather loyal to and stick with whatever is working. It's so difficult to find something that works on 'your type' of acne and whilst I've found some bits I can semi-rely on, I didn't expect to break out when I returned home. My skin had been reviving itself from the harsh 4-hour-sleep-a-day diet for the past two weeks and it was starting to look good. Then it went bonkers when I returned home and there I was, spotty without any spot treatments at hand. Just. My. Luck. [and in time for holiday season].

HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL! I hope you all had a great NYE, whether it was a calm night in or a wild night out. Personally, I just spent my night with lots of family and stayed in stuffing my face with food and gulping down drinks. Aside from having far too many glasses of bubbly and vino rouge, I did spend some time reflecting upon my year [whilst being still sober]. Sadly, I wasn't able to fulfil all my resolutions set in 2014, but I'm determined to start 2015 on a positive note and achieve all resolutions. You can call it the alcohol that's still in my blood – I swear it's not [just] the booze talking —but I call it eagerness to make this year freakin' awesome.
