New To The Routine #2

As I often am asked about my skincare routine, I thought I’d do a second post on the skincare bits that have been added to my routine lately. I’ve had to shift somethings in and out as my skin has changed a bit (i.e. hormonal breakouts in the worst form possible). I’ve added more soothing, spot removing and correcting products to aid my skin in its recovery process. Now a 4-5 weeks later, I’m almost spot-free (only the occasional spot) and actually have dewy and radiant skin. Not perfect, but way better than it was before – thanks to this super league of products.

Aurelia Miracle Cleanser*
Need I say more? After my mega rave, I’m pretty sure you know why I love this. Packed full with goodies and beautiful things, it smells divine and makes my skin look vibrant and dewy. The cloth that comes with it makes my skin feel uber smooth and aids as a gentle daily exfoliant. A more in depth review here.

Pixi Glow Tonic
It’s no secret that I love Caroline and follow her tips like I follow the law – trying to do it correct. When she started her rave on exfoliating toners the beauty blogging world became mental and everyone had to have them, including me. Having the luck that the Glow Tonics were on stock that day, I ventured after work to Carnaby street to get my Toner and couldn’t wait to try it out. Initial thoughts? Not impressed. Now, 5 weeks later I only use it 3-4 times a week (only in the evenings) and mainly on my forehead, mouth and chin area – where most under-the-skin bumps are. I’m slowly seeing (and feeling) the effect of the tonic and those nasty bumps are slowly disappearing.

balance Me. Skin Bright Hydrating Face Mist*
Part of the Caroline rave is that ‘you take away’ with an exfoliating toner and you ‘add’ with a hydrating one (i.e. hyaluronic acid). Many brands do these, but my favorite has been Balance Me. I’m a huge fan of the brand and their toner has not disappointed me in any way. It’s 99% natural and contains hyaluronic acid, the ingredient that will keep your skin looking plump, radiant and hydrated. Half way through the bottle now, I use this AM/PM and spritz it generously over my face and neck area. When I’m tired, need a pick me up I use this as well and  it’s great over make up too.

Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution (not on picture)
Part of the process of getting rid of those pesky spots, is dealing with the aftermath: scarring (hyper pigmentation spots). Having dealt with this before, I have repurchased (link to haul) this trustworthy pal and apply this diligently every AM/PM, after toner, before serum and moisturizer. I’ve seen minor improvements already and scars are starting to fade.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
My skin has been clearing up so much and this product has just helped in the process. It does what it says: drying out the blemish. Unlike many spot treatments, this does not dry out the skin around the spot, so you won’t have to worry your concealer will cling around it. I apply this in the evening after my serum, treatments. If my skin is feeling very dry I apply this after my moisturizer/facial oil.

REN Radiance Perfection Serum*
Every one wants a radiant and dewy complexion and after all those blemish treatments my skin became a bit dull and dry. The Serum is very runny, in a good way, and smells like oranges. It’s very fresh and easy to apply all over the face. First I didn’t think much of it, but after a few days I noticed that my skin was noticeably more dewy, radiant and plump. I apply this all over the face (AM/PM), after my toner and treatment, before my moisturizer/face oil.
