Though I know for many of you, toners are something that’s either a hit or miss – for me it’s a vital step in my routine. Toners are the step right after the second cleanse and before your treatment/moisturiser. There are tons of different types, brands, scents, and in order to convince you I decided to share the crème-de-la-crème of the toners I have tried over the past few months.
Melvita Rose Floral Water – feelunique.com
Melvita has a great range of organic toners and their Rose one is my absolute favourite. Not only does it smell absolutely gorgeous, it also hydrates and refreshes my skin. Rose water is perfect for those with dry, sensitive skin and is proven to help prevent wrinkles, tighten pores and to add a glow to the skin.
Caudalie Lotion Tonique Hydratante – escentual.com
I think this is one of my favourites out of the bunch and I’ve actually managed to get my aunt, mum and sister hooked on this as well. Just like all other Caudalie products, it’s derived from grapes. It takes a bit longer for it to sink into the skin, but once it is, your skin will thank you for it. It really hydrates and plumps the skin and is perfect for all skin types.
La Roche-Posay Serozinc – newpharma.nl
I’ve mentioned this in my Current Skin Saviours post and it’s a rather new product for me, but I really like it. It’s a mist that basically has zinc properties in it, which is great for when you have a rash or skin irritations as it’ll calm and treat the skin. It’s marketed for oily and acne prone skin, but as it’s not drying, I’d say it’s perfect for anyone. I particularly like to spray this all over the skin after having squeezed out a blemish.
REN Tonic Moisture Mist – renskincare.com
This number is my favourite to take with me on-the-go. Like the name suggests, it’s really moisturising as it’s packed with Hyaluronic Acid, to keep the skin hydrated and moisturised, fig extracts to cool and refresh the skin and ginseng to energise and decongest the skin. This is just perfect when you’ve got a long day at work or Uni when you feel your make up looks awful. A few spritzes later and you and your skin look and feel much better – it’s the best at reviving tired skin. With it’s handy 50 ml, it’s been travelling with me all around the globe – a must in every (busy) girl’s handbag.
Caudalie Eau de Beauté – feelunique.com
Oh how could I leave this one out – the cult of the cult-toners. Talking about pick-me-ups, this one is a keeper. It does contain alcohol, so if your skin is very dry or super sensitive, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this one, though I haven’t experienced any irritations personally. The scent is really uplifting and calming at the same time – I always make sure to have one near my desk. When spritzing this all over my face, I feel like my skin looks more radiant and feel immediately more awake – it also looks great when spritzed over make up. I think I just reminded myself to repurchase the 30 ml to keep in my purse. Toners? Signed. Sealed. Spritzed.
Which toner do you use, if you use any?
