What I’ve Been Loving (April 2014)

Although the temperature had its ups and downs in April, I can say the weather has been amazing ever since it was my birthday. Two weeks in as a 21-year-old and honestly I don’t sense much of a difference from you 20-year-old self —only now I can legally enter clubs and bars. Anyways, ramblings aside, this month’s favourites consist of quite a few make up products, and a new discovery for body care. So let’s crackin’.

Since the sun came out to play, I managed to tan ever so slightly and am finally matching my BECCA Matte Skin Shine Proof Foundation. If you haven’t read my review of it yet, please do so if you want more details on the nitty gritty, but in short it’s amazing. It’s got medium coverage and one of the most natural looking bases I’ve tried. The foundation stays on pretty much throughout the day without any powder or blotting needed.

I discovered that what I thought was a ‘no-nail-polish’ policy in the office was the ‘I’m-too-lazy-to-paint-my-nails’ treatment. As a nail polish junkie, that was my cue and I’ve been cracking my Essie polishes out. Somehow I’ve been loving my blues and Parka Perfect and Bikini So Teeny have been on my tips (and toes!) for the past few weeks. Parka Perfect is an alpine gray, where Bikini So Teeny is a bright cornflower blue and has got a slight shimmer in it.

On my cheeks I’ve started wearing powder blushes after my revelation with a NARS Blush in Torrid. Not only does it look lovely in the pan, it’s the most natural coral peachy red, with a slight shimmer. It stays on for hours and it’s my current favourite shade. More on NARS blushes here. I’ve been loving Benefit Benetint for my lips lately, for a natural and effortless stain. By the condition of the bottle, I guess it ain’t a secret I’ve been using this for a while now. It’s just the best and although the application process isn’t the most hygienic one, it does leave my lips the perfect tone of my-lips-but-enhanced.

AHAVA Dry Oil Body Mist is something I’ve received for my birthday and I’ve been using it every now and then —when I feel like properly taking care of my limbs. The spray is really nice and spritzes the right amount of product and it sinks into the skin almost immediately. The Mist is from their Plants line, which is a blend of Mandarin- and Cedar Oil, Vitamin E, to strengthen the skin and protect it against free radicals, and Dunaliella Algae, which is a powerful anti-oxidant. Perfect skin treatment for a winter to spring transmission.
