Drugstore Haul

Oddly enough, I haven’t set foot in a drugstore besides getting vitamins and tons of cotton pads. Skincare wise, the products are no where near the variety of cool brands Boots houses, and I’ve just never found anything in the make up department that made me look back. Until last week. Remember this post featuring that mind-blowing, super long lasting liquid lipstick from L’Oréal? Well, that made me peruse my local drugstore for another shade and I ended up picking up a few other bits.

It seems much brighter in the picture above, but L’Oréal Infallible 3X in 510 Continual Crimson is much darker and a classic vampy red. The staying power is just as great the other shade I’ve tried (506 Red Infallible) and I’ve gotten so many compliments from my colleagues when I worn this to a recent work related event. It also instantly brightens up my skin and teeth.

Another lip product I picked up was L’Oréal Colour Riche L’Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick in 304 Ruby Opera. It instantly reminded me of the YSL Glossy Stains, one of my all-time favourite lip products. The application is dreamy and the product is much more pigmented than I’d expected. The shade is a gorgeous, deep red and lasted on my lips for 4-5 hours. It’s such a creamy formula and so easy to apply. Just like the Glossy Stains, it wears off as a stain and it’s quite moisturising.

Lastly, I picked up a foundation. I know, shocker. I’ve unofficially sworn off drugstore foundations, simply as they never fit my needs, nor do they match my skin tone. However, after the ongoing positive reviews, I finally bit the bullet and bought L’Oréal True Match Foundation in Warm Beige (W3). It’s a teeny bit warmer than my current complexion, but with some proper blending, all is well. The texture is amazing and so easy to blend onto the skin. You literally need the tiniest amount for amazing coverage. Although it’s medium coverage, it still looks very natural, and it keeps oil at bay throughout the day. It stays on all day and I only had to blot 2-3 times. And if I had to compare it, it definitely fits somewhere between NARS Sheer Glow and Armani Luminous Skin.
