Spring Look III –
Cocktail Sippin’ Worthy

Spring equals sun (if you’re lucky), which equals drinks with friends, which equals cocktails. Someone get me a Sex on the Beach! That’s my drink y’all. And whilst the sun has been out quite a bit the past few days, I haven’t been able to sip my first cocktail under sunset. And mark my words, I will definitely be rocking this look when the time finally comes.

I wore L’OrĂ©al TrueMatch Perfecting Foundation, which I’ve been loving lately. It’s simply a foundation anyone could rock, being a novice or a pro. I like to use my fingers and blend. The coverage is medium, with a natural finish. I’ve actually worn this without a spot concealer and my skin looked good. Yes, it’s a big claim to make, but for me this is a mix of NARS Sheer Glow and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, but then much more affordable. My eye bags on the other hand, need any kind of help they can get. And yes, Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer is unforgettable in my make up routine. To finish the base, I tap a bit of BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl on my cheekbones, brow arch, brow bone and the inner corners of the eye, to brighten up the look and create a natural, luminous look.

To keep the base rather natural, I used Daniel Sander Watercolour Blush in Spicey to add some warmth to the skin. It’s a gorgeous warm peachy/coral cheek tint with a slight golden shimmer. It literally stays on the cheeks forever, so I love to rock these when I know it need something that’ll last all day. You can really build these up slowly by adding thin layers, but as I was feeling rather lazy, I added a few dabs of Bourjois Cream Blush in 02 Healthy Glow for a subtle punch of peach.

I used Hourglass Sculpting Brow Arch to define my brows and my Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler to curl my eyes. I do really think curled lashes make such a big difference on me, especially since my lashes are rather dark and long. Sadly I suffer from lashes that just stand straight down so the effect is gone in an hour or so. For mascara I’m not that fussed, although Clinique High Impact Waterproof Mascara and Estee Lauder Double Wear Mascara are my all time fave. In this look I’m wearing Planter’s Lenthening Mascara Maxi Volume Long Flash. I got this gifted once and all I know it’s got a cray ass long name, elongates the lashes very nicely and (sadly) smudges on me slightly. Although it does hold the curl well, I won’t be repurchasing this.

And the most exciting part for me: lips. NARS has been doing such a great job with their Satin Lip Pencil and I love all the colours I’ve tried so far. Luxembourg is a gorgeous poppy red, which is a definite eye catcher. It brightens my skin and whitens my teeth. I apply a thin layer first, blot and then add another layer, so the colour will stay on nicely, even after a cocktail or two.

This was the end of the three spring looks; check out the first and second one in case you hadn’t seen them yet. I had a lot of fun experimenting taking pictures of an actual person (that’s me) instead of the usual still life. I’d love to know how you liked this mini series and what you’d like to see more in the future on the blog.
