I’m known to always over pack when travelling – be it a two day trip or a month-long holiday, it doesn’t matter. For my trip back home I packed a surprisingly low amount of personal items (fyi: it was all packed with Christmas gifts) and the beauty products I brought with me can be counted on one hand. I’ll be flying back to Leeds in a few weeks and I just didn’t want to bring my army of beauty products and bring it all back [alongside new purchases, ha]. Call me smart or call me cheeky, but meet the essentials…
YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat must be one of my favourite foundations to date, mainly because it provides a medium coverage whilst leaving your skin look radiant and luminous in a non-greasy way. I’m shade B30 and it matches my skin to the T. I prefer to use my hands to apply this and it requires zero effort to work it into the skin and blend it, because of the awesome formula. I follow up with RMS “Un” Cover-Up in 22 to conceal any blemishes and my dark circles. Despite the creaminess, it stays put the entire day and covers blemishes and redness like no other.
Whilst my brows are in a much better place than 4 months ago, I still need to fill them in to make them look, well… presentable. Soap & Glory Archery in Hot Chocolate is the best high street brow pencil I’ve spotted so far, but then again I haven’t tried that many. I can’t say I prefer it over my Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil, but it’s less than a third of the price, so I can’t complain. Because I haven’t been able to play with my NARS Virtual Domination Cheek Palette that much, I’m trying to play around with it now I’ve got the time. I didn’t think I would, but I adore all 3 blush shades and Final Cut being my favourite. I’m regretting more than ever for not picking the full size product when it was in their Spring 2014 collection. A look is not complete without a lipstick and I’ve rediscovered my love for Chanel Rouge Coco in 05 Mademoiselle whilst rummaging through my lipstick drawer. It’s the perfect ‘my lips but much better’ shade and you can apply it a bit thicker to go from day to night. The simplest routine, but oh so satisfying.
