Etude House Knows What’s Up

As of recently, I’m lucky enough to call myself a proud member of Etude House‘s Pink Bird clan, which is their global ‘club’ of selected Korean beauty loving members. A big perk is being introduced to some of their most popular and best-selling items. I’m pretty sure I’ve already voiced my interest and bias regarding Korean beauty products and Etude makes it so much easier to fall in love with their products. They’re affordable, products do what they promise and the packaging is just too cute. I guess I don’t need much convincing, eh?

I’ve been trying four of their products for a few weeks now and I can say I’m really impressed. It’s actually my first time trying Etude House cosmetics. There’s so much hype around their products and I can totally understand why. Their Play 101 Pencils are supposedly multi-purpose pencils, which you can use on the eyes, lips and face. I’ve been playing around with PLAY 5, which is a glittery champagne colour. I’ve not tried it on my lips, but I’ve used it as highlighter and to line my eyes, which is my favourite way to use it. Whenever I wear this, I get so many compliments. As it’s quite glittery, I tend to save this for the nights out —which is the only time I wear eye makeup, tbh. It glides on very easily and stays put all night. I’m definitely interested to try a black version of this, as I’ve yet to fine a black liner that stays put all night…

You know that BB/CC cushions are having a moment right now, so I couldn’t wait to try different formulas. I’ve got their Precious Mineral Any Cushion and Precious Mineral Any Cushion Pearl Aura in the shade Natural Beige. Both are a tad too light for me at the moment, but I make it work by dusting bronzer all over my face, so it blends in with my neck. Both are medium-full coverage and last all day. I’m so impressed with the quality of cushion bases, as all of them are very long-lasting and look really natural, whilst providing a good punch of coverage. PMAC leaves a more matte and natural finish, whereas PMACP leaves a subtle radiance no the skin. No concealer is needed as it covers redness very well and it’s just perfect. I know Etude have blush and concealer cushions as well, so I’m really intrigued to try those.

Lastly, I’ve been using their Fresh Cherry Tint in Cherry Peach a lot. On a daily basis I prefer lip tints over lipsticks, as they’re less effort to maintain and look really natural. Since I’ve been spending most days in the library working on my dissertation, I can’t really be arsed to put on a lot of makeup. Although the tint looks very orange, when applied it’s a coral-pink shade that is just perfect for summer. Unlike some tints, this doesn’t dry out the lips or sets in lines. However, because it is a tint, it doesn’t stay on the lips for very long and does require touch-ups throughout the day. And if you’re not a big fan of lychee, I’m not quite sure if this’d be for you, as it’s lightly lychee scented. That being said, you don’t really taste the flavour and it fades rather quickly. All in all, I’m so impressed with my first Etude House products and can’t wait to try more of their range. More coming soon…
