The Luxury Christmas Gift Guide

Christmas is easily my favourite holiday of the year —if you couldn’t tell by the fake snow. The Christmas carols, fairy lights, family members getting together, mulled wine and of course… the gift exchange. It just makes me so excited and grateful. Yes, I realise this gift guide is a tad last-minute —a lot of exciting things have happened over the past few weeks (more on this in 2016!). But I had to share some great (luxury) products that would be great gifts to give and a bliss to receive.

I think Kjaer Weis’ Glow Kit (LE) is easily my most favourite pick of all. It comes in a sturdy red box that holds their Radiance Highlighter and Dazzling Bronzer. The packaging is truly heavy and I’m not sure whether I’ll regret this purchase, as I’m flying rather frequently. Practicality aside —it’s just gorgeous and I can’t imagine anyone not liking this as a gift! I’ve not tried the products myself just yet, but glowing reviews by my #greenbeauty friends have gotten me very excited.

OK, I’ll be honest… I do get excited really easily and I love all my Christmas gift picks… BUT Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a good gift set and REN did it again. Their Moroccan Rose range is by far my fave and The Moroccan Rose Collection is basically a sensational rose-scented set with some of my faves. You’ll get a full-size Moroccan Rose Otto Ultra-Moisture Body Oil and Body Wash, and a travel-size of their Moroccan Rose Otto Sugar Body Polish.

Also… As Christmas equals winter, cold and maybe even snow, being warm and wrapped up is key. I love my chunky knits and scarves like no other and Ralph Lauren Big Pony Wool Scarf is such a lovely product to give. They’re super soft, unisex, come in loads of different colours and I’m sure you’ll be able to make someone really happy (and warm!) with it. Not unimportant: all Ralph Lauren products come boxed in a gorgeous navy box, wrapped with a red ribbon —that’s packaging sorted.

Staying on the topic of scents, I discovered Shay & Blue earlier this year and I’ve been using Watermelons ever since. It’s such a fresh, feminine, watermelon-y and slightly floral scent, without being overpowering or overly sweet. If you know someone who like floral scents, but doesn’t want to smell like a patch of fresh flowers, Ralph Lauren Garden Room Diffuser is your pick. I’m really bad in describing scents, but it contains of Pink Peony, Hyacinth, Spring Grass and White Musk. For some maybe a very spring scent, but for me just how I like my rooms to smell. Christmas wouldn’t really be Christmas without a good ‘ol pine scented [blank], and my pick goes to Diptyque’s LE Christmas Candles. Mine’s Résine (from last year), but Sapin sounds – and looks – incredible. A fresh scent of pines blended with mandarin zest? Count. Me. In.

When my friend told me there was this ‘cucumber infused drink’, my first thought was interesting… The second was ew. She convinced me to just try it – I’m not that hard to convince and I like to experiment – and that’s when Hendrik’s & tonic became my drink. I think the 1l bottles are duty-free exclusive, but a bottle Hendrik’s is the best gift for a gin lover. If they’re not fans already, they’ll be after their first sip. Top tip: don’t forget to add a few slices of cucumber.

Drinks aside – I swear I’m not an alcoholic – give any beauty loving girl Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Edit and you’ve made her Christmas. I’ve mentioned this previously and it’s made the rest of my blush collection redundant. It’s super practical and just pure eye candy. Whilst I love my products to look great, I’m not too fussy and love simplistic and minimalistic designs just as much. Aurelia is a brand that’s based on probiotics and its Refine & Glow Miracle Collection is a great way to familiarise yourself with their products. It contains the best-selling Miracle Cleansing Balm, Refine & Polish Miracle Balm, a small vial of the Cell Repair Night Oil and 7 muslin cloths. Giving you no reason to not have a clean one everyday!

The Refine & Polish Miracle Balm is definite a fave, as it brightens up the skin, smoothes it and leaves it soft and radiant. Gressa Skin’s Dirty Pretty Things, on the other hand, is like a pot of spices that calm the skin and is perfect for those with troubled skin/hormonal acne. I recently ordered the full-size after having tried a sachet of this and it’s nothing like anything I’ve ever tried. It smells like cinnamon cookies and makes my skin look good: what else do you need? As anti-blemish masks tend to leave my skin to the drier side, I always follow up with a hydrating sheet mask or slap on a nourishing cream mask. Recently I’ve been obsessed with I’m From’s Honey Mask that’s made out of natural ingredients and 38.7% consists of real honey. It smells like honey and the perfect way to describe its effects is that it leaves my skin plump and fuller in a way.

If you like spicy and woody scents, and like your products to pack a good punch of nourishment, Kahina Giving Beauty’s Body Serum is your gal. It’s the mix of both worlds and I sometimes even use it as a subtle fragrance. It’s got the right amount of woodiness and is a bliss for the nose. Check back on Sunday Monday for more budget-friendly picks.
