A New Leaf – Hello 2017!

2016 was one heck of a year. I got my first ‘official’ job, which was followed by my first promotion, I moved back to London and then signed a long-term lease for my flat. SCARY STUFF. There have been great achievements, but I’ve spent the past few weeks reflecting and making mental notes of what I could do more, better or differently. Here’s what you can – hopefully – expect to see on 9 out of ten in 2017.

Believe it or not, but I love a bit of change. You could even say I’m used to it… In the past 6 years, I’ve lived in 3 countries, 4 cities and moved house 8 times. I’m a big believer that people change because of the things and environment they’re exposed to, making life and experiences that much richer. So the first few changes you can look out for is a complete blog redesign. I’m aiming for it to go live the coming week and make minor tweaks as we go. And then, I’ve got lots of great ideas with regards to content…

The promise to bring more content to the blog isn’t a new one, but I’m determined to make 2017 the year where I’ll get back into creative writing, spend less time on Netflix and take time to create content for the blog. Creativity feeds the soul and all that… First one to keep your eyes peeled for is a starters guide for French pharmacy products.

Living on my own, in London, with London rent prices to pay… It made a big dent in my expenses. That, and my ridiculous spending behaviour on beauty, clothes and things I didn’t really need, but just really wanted. I’m capitalism in it’s living form and I doubt my materialism will die down, but instead of spending money on things, I want to try and save money to spend it on experiences. Think beach holidays, spa treatments, facials, mani-pedis, city trips… The world is my oyster. Yes, I shall stop using these cheesy sayings now…

So whilst these points may not seem significant on writing, I know this is going to be a big challenge for me personally to fulfil. I’m going to make a big effort to tick all three off my list by the end of this year and enjoy life to the fullest, which is something I’ve not really done in 2016.
